Find the confirmation and read the official calendar's rules before making a change. Some modules provide an appointment management link by email; others require cancellation followed by a new reservation. Cancelling never guarantees another date will be available. Do not remove your booking on the assumption that every office offers a reschedule button.
Find the correct confirmation
Search your email for the prefecture, procedure and chosen date. Check spam folders and attachments. A validation message may be separate from the final appointment notice, so read both if the calendar sends them separately.
Use the official link in the message. It may contain an identifier specific to your booking; do not publish it or give it to a third-party service. If the message is missing, use the office contact on the prefecture website.
Check the cancellation procedure first
The Mayenne medical appointment FAQ describes managing the booking from the notice and cancelling an existing medical appointment before reserving another. The Valenciennes module also asks unavailable applicants to cancel through the booking module and request a new date.
These examples are not a universal rule. Check the modification deadline, case category and displayed instructions. If the module says an appointment cannot be moved, ask the office which procedure to use rather than creating a duplicate booking.
Identify what the change actually does
- The module offers rescheduling: follow the process until you receive the new confirmation.
- Cancellation then a new reservation: the first date is removed; another date depends on available slots.
- The administration cancels: read its message to establish whether it will send a replacement notice or expects you to book again.
Check the resulting status and email after the action. Keep the confirmation you will need for the visit. Closing an unfinished screen is not proof that a replacement reservation was saved.
If no replacement date is available
Read about no available prefecture appointments and find the exact procedure in live calendars. An availability alert may notify you for a supported calendar; it does not transfer or replace the official booking.
A different appointment date can affect preparation. For a medical board, check the laboratory instructions and accepted age of results. For card collection, review the residence permit collection documents. The office's own instructions remain the reference. Linked official sources are in French.
