Do not choose a medical board only because its next appointment is earlier. First establish that it can handle your case. Your residence, the sanction decision and the official calendar's eligibility conditions determine which office to use. Medical board rules differ from the rules for an approved doctor in private practice.
The board and the approved doctor are different cases
The official administrative suspension guidance distinguishes alcohol or drug offences from other situations. It explains that the prefect may direct the medical board examination to the department where the offence occurred. It also allows an approved doctor in another department, with an explanation attached to the file.

Read the calendar's eligibility conditions
Local rules can be explicit. The Valenciennes booking module requires the board for your district of residence. The Ain instructions restrict online appointments to residents of the department.
Check references to residence, district, department and exceptions before selecting a date elsewhere. An available slot does not establish that your file is eligible for that office.
After moving or an offence in another department
Have the sanction decision, your current address and the measure's end date ready. Ask the official contact shown on the notice or prefecture website which service should receive you. A clear answer can avoid a cancelled appointment or a visit to the wrong place.
Do not book several boards as a way of deciding later. Establish the applicable procedure first, then use the indicated calendar. Prepared documents and laboratory results do not remove territorial eligibility conditions.
